Dance Legend Aviator

Dance Legend Aviator is a blue holographic jelly from the Sparky collection that was released about a year ago. The formula was disappointing, I expected more from a jelly. The polish was very thick and tricky to apply. I think I've read about some manufacturing error resulting in caps being not tight enough. This could be it, I guess. I am also not a big fan of Dance Legend brush, it's super weird and somewhat crooked.

For the photo above I used two thick coats of Aviator. The color looks rich and deep because the coats were extremely thick. If Aviator was as thin as other polishes from Sparky collection that I own, you'd probably get this look with three to four coats. The polish dries fast and smooth on the nail. Aviator is very pigmented but it didn't stain my nails. I really like the color and the holographic particles but I think I'm going to de-stash it.

Emily de Molly Veiled Flame

Veiled Flame is dark plum creme/jelly with heavy copper shimmer. Formula wise the polish isn't too thin or too thick. It's fully opaque in two medium coats. The finish of Veiled Flame isn't glossy enough for me so I've applied a top coat. The shimmer definitely looks more prominent with a glossy top coat. Veiled Flame didn't stain my nails or fingers and the shimmer washed off nicely.

Veiled Flame has been discontinued recently which is sad because it's very beautiful with its coppery flare. Be sure to check the macro pic of this polish, the shimmer is just so awesome. I absolutely adore this kind of ragged shimmer. The macro isn't resized so you can see all the details, just hover your cursor over the pic or open it in another tab. The photo above is taken in natural lighting, and there's also a pic taken under electric lights. Press 'read more' to see them~

Picture Polish Escapades

Picture Polish Escapades is a dark teal jelly with holographic particles. As for me, it look more blue than green. Usually it look almost black, to be honest. The formula is similar to that of other Picture Polish holos. It dries fast and smooth on the nail, it doesn't stain, it's opaque in two coats, all the usual stuff. It makes my hands lighter to the extent that my camera struggles with taking a picture. You can probably see that. On the photo Escapades looks as I see it in 'real life' while my skin looks, for the lack of better word, weird. Escapades is a beautiful polish, especially if you manage to apply it in one coat.

Emily de Molly The Pretender

Emily de Molly The Pretender is a purple jelly with duo-chrome shimmer shifting from green to gold. The polish dries smooth on the nail, the finish is semi-matte. I've used two coats of The Pretender and a top coat for my swatches. The formula is great and thin enough for me, it was super-easy to apply the polish. The Pretender dries fast but you may want to wait longer before applying a top coat as it can make the polish shrink. I've had no issues with removing the polish.

The green shimmer is overpowering, it makes the purple base look dusty at all times. I've tried looking at it in the direct sunlight, in the shade, in white and yellow electrical lights. It's all the same green shimmer. Sometimes at extreme angles you do see it shift to gold or, surprisingly, violet, but most of the time it is green. I like this effect so much! I find it unusual and captivating. There are lots of green shimmer in The Pretender so be careful with brush strokes. It is better to apply this polish in just a few strokes.

The photo above was taken in the shade, the photo below was taken in white electric lights.

Picture Polish Autumn

Picture Polish Autumn is a reddish orange holographic jelly. Many people compare this color to pumpkin, I personally think of red orange juice. The formula is similar to other holos by Picture Polish, you can expect pretty much the same characteristics. I've used two coats and a top coat. I haven't experienced any troubles with application or removal of this polish. It also didn't stain my fingers or nails but I would recommend using a base coat for such a shade just in case.

The tips of my fingers are red and that's the reason I prefer green polishes. I never expected an orange polish to look this good. I was really surprised by Autumn! It doesn't really make my skin look whiter or less red but it doesn't make it redder. Definitely a keeper!

Sorry, just one photo today. Apparently, my camera can't handle this bright orange color so mostly I got either blue hands or red hands but nothing in between. With no way to adjust white balance manually this is the best photo I've managed to take. This is more or less true to the way I see it in real life. It will look redder in warmer lighting.

Picture Polish Bette, Calm, and Ocean

Bette, Calm, and Ocean are pretty similar, so I've decided to make a comparison post about them. They all are jellies with holographic particles. The formula is pretty much the same so everything I say can be applied to all of them. The polish is fairly thin but not too streaky, I like that. These are jellies, so they won't be opaque unless you apply lots of coats. I've used two coats for each of them. Holo particles are the same, I think, it's the amount of them that differs. Ocean and Bette have lots, but Calm has noticeably fewer. The exact shade differs, of course. Calm is greener than Ocean, but Ocean is greener than Bette. I'd say both Ocean and Calm are aqua blue, i.e. the blue color is a bit greenish. Bette is much colder, there is no green hue. Personally, I like Bette the most.

Emily de Molly Forever and Ever

Emily de Molly Forever and Ever is a teal holographic jelly. The teal is more blue than green and it took quite a bit of experimenting with lighting to show its greener side for the photo above. The holo is subtle and scattered, it looks so beautiful. The formula is fantastic, it reminded me of Celestial's Electric Sphere. I've used two coats for all photos, as usual. You could probably manage to apply Forever and Ever in one thick coat. I really do not know, what else to say, because Emily de Molly polishes are all wonderful. I've experienced no staining but I would strongly advise to use a base coat just in case. I use Orly Bonder as a base coat and it has been pretty good at preventing the staining. It's also awesome at increasing the longevity of nail polishes.

So the photo above, as I've mentioned, is my attempt at showing a greener side of Forever and Ever. I've also other taken pictures with different lighting showing its blue side. Please, press 'read more' to see other photos, too.

Celestial Electric Sphere (Peter)

Celestial Electric Sphere is a part of Emily de Molly and Celestial collaboration called Heroes Duo. Hopefully, I'll make a post about Emily de Molly Claire Bear next week. It's my first and only Celestial Polish as of now. Electric Sphere is a turquoise holographic jelly. It looks blue in most cases but it definitely has some green hues. In yellow electric light it looks completely teal. Electric Sphere is opaque in two or three coats depending on application. I prefer to use two coats because I like jellies to be more transparent. The application is easy, the brush is pretty convenient. I haven't experienced any staining.

Electric Sphere is stunning. This color is like water in the ocean. Sometimes it appears to be aqua blue, but with the change of lighting shifts to green or to a deeper blue shade. I just can't look away from my nails, this is so embarrassing, honestly. I've also immensely enjoyed the process of application for pretty much the same reason. The way colors change is obviously the thing that I like most about Electric Sphere. It's not the most complementary hue for my skin color but I just love it and continue to wear it as much as possible. Electric Sphere is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful polishes in my collection.

As usual, you can find other photos under the cut :)

Picture Polish Pandora

Picture Polish Pandora is a part of Opulence Shades collection and is a re-release of Ozotic 624. Pandora is a purple scattered holographic jelly. It tends to look closer to violet in the shade. Pandora contains no glitter and dries smooth on the nail. I had no issues with application of this polish. The removal is easy, and I haven't experienced staining so far. I've used two coats of Pandora and a top coat for these swatches.

I'm a bit disappointed with this one, to be honest. In my opinion, the holographic particles differ from those in Cosmos, Kryptonite and other holographic jellies by Picture Polish. Holographic particles in Cosmos make it look deep, for the lack of better word. Particles in Pandora are smaller, and there are lots of them. I'd say, Pandora looks pretty flat for such a polish. Sure, it's all sparkly and glimmering with the right kind of lighting but you don't get that a lot in real life. It also makes my fingers look reddish and yellowish, and I am definitely not a fan of this sausage-y look I get. I've tried to adjust lighting to get rid of this effect but wasn't exactly successful.

A close-up of the nails plus photos in the shade and in the sunlight can be found under the cut. I personally prefer the way Pandora looks in the shade. It becomes darker and more violet than purple, so my fingers seem whiter.

Peripera Nail Story RD001

RD001 is a beautiful red jelly, I just love it. The formula is very nice, I would definitely recommend this polish to a beginner. It was so easy to apply and you are totally fine with just one coat. However, I applied three coats for the photos because I wanted it to look brighter. Its opaqueness doesn't really change, it was pretty much the same with one coat and three coats. You can see on the photos that nail line is still visible with three coats. RD001 is also super glossy even without top coat. Its durability can be an issue, though. If you are in a hurry, then apply one coat but the tips of your nails won't look so good by the end of the day. If you want your polish to stay unchanged for a longer period of time, then apply 2-3 coats.
